Residents of Twinsburg, Solon, or Hudson, Ohio have several options when it comes to collision repair, given the proximity of these communities to each other and to other auto body markets (like Aurora/Cleveland area). If you’re in this tri-city region and facing vehicle damage, you might wonder: Where should I get my car fixed? Let’s discuss the local collision repair landscape and how to choose the right place.

Understanding the Local Area Options

Twinsburg, Solon, and Hudson are all within about a 10-15 mile radius. That means many shops service all three, and you aren’t limited strictly to your city. You have:

  • Independent body shops in each town. For example, Solon has (or had) Solon Collision (now moved to Aurora), Twinsburg has a couple smaller body shops or possibly franchise locations, and Hudson may have a local body shop as well.

  • Dealership body shops nearby. There are car dealerships in the region (e.g. in Streetsboro or Bedford or Solon) that might have collision centers. If you prefer a dealership-affiliated shop (perhaps for warranty or OEM parts confidence), those are an option.

  • Destination shops in neighboring cities. Some of the best-rated shops might be just outside these towns (like in Aurora, Macedonia, or Stow). For instance, as we’ve discussed, Solon Collision relocated to Aurora – that’s a prime example of a top independent shop that Twinsburg/Solon/Hudson drivers might go to given their reputation and now central-ish location.

  • Franchise chains (like Caliber Collision, Gerber Collision & Glass, etc.) have locations in the greater Cleveland-Akron region, some of which might be close to Twinsburg/Solon area (for example, there’s likely one in Streetsboro or Bedford). These can be convenient but quality can vary by location.

Choosing Based on Quality and Convenience

1. Solon Collision (Aurora) – Serving Twinsburg/Solon/Hudson region: As detailed earlier, Solon Collision is an I-CAR Gold Class shop with excellent reviews, now just in Aurora which is adjacent to Solon and a short drive from Twinsburg and Hudson. If you valued them when they were in Solon, they’re still your go-to, just down the road. They work with all insurances and are known for quality. For many, the slight extra drive to Aurora is worth the top-tier service.

2. Twinsburg Options: If you prefer staying in Twinsburg, check for any local body shops with good word-of-mouth. Twinsburg is smaller, so some residents go to Solon or Streetsboro for repairs. It’s worth noting a lot of Twinsburg folks likely utilized Solon Collision or other Solon shops historically due to proximity. Now, with Solon Collision in Aurora, that might still be their first choice.

3. Solon Options: Solon had a few body shops historically (Solon Collision was a big one, now moved; perhaps others like dealerships or smaller shops exist). If in Solon, you might consider:

  • Aurora (Solon Collision) as mentioned.

  • Bedford Auto Mile area – not far from Solon, a cluster of dealership and independent shops. If you have a luxury car, some dealership body shops (e.g. Lexus of Akron/Canton’s body shop or similar) might be considered, though Bedford’s about 15-20 min from Solon.

  • Commuter route – maybe you work in Cleveland or Akron; you could choose a shop there and get a loaner. But typically, local is easier for dropping off/picking up.

4. Hudson Options: Hudson is a bit east of Twinsburg and north of Stow. Hudson might not have many collision shops in its small downtown, but neighboring Stow, Cuyahoga Falls, or Streetsboro have some. However, again, Aurora or even Solon/Aurora might be close for Hudson residents (Aurora is maybe 8-10 miles from Hudson center). Also, the Montrose area (Fairlawn) has some shops, but that’s a drive.

5. Considerations for All Three:

  • Distance vs. Trust: It’s often worth driving an extra 5-10 miles to a shop you trust (for example, from Hudson to Aurora, or Twinsburg to Aurora/Macedonia) to get quality repair. All three towns are within a stone’s throw of Aurora or Macedonia, where reputable shops exist.

  • Rental Car Availability: If you need a rental, note that larger shops often have on-site rental partners. For instance, Solon Collision in Aurora likely coordinates rentals (they mention helping with rental cars). If you go to a tiny shop in say, Hudson that doesn’t have those relationships, you might have to arrange your own rental separately. All towns have Enterprise or Hertz nearby though (Enterprise will pick you up).

  • Insurance Preference: Ohio law lets you choose any shop, but if your insurance suggests a network shop in one of these towns (for example, a State Farm Select Service in Twinsburg), you can consider it. Just ensure their quality is up to par. It’s okay to use an insurer-recommended if they have good reviews and you feel comfortable, but you’re not obligated to.

6. Community Ties: Twinsburg, Solon, and Hudson are tight-knit communities. Often, neighbors will share recommendations. Don’t underestimate asking on local Facebook groups or Nextdoor for “best body shop?” You might find that many people mention the same name (e.g., Solon Collision in Aurora, or another local gem). Because these towns are close, one shop can have a reputation spanning all three.

A Mini-Guide for Each Town:

  • Twinsburg: Check out shops in Twinsburg Industrial Park or nearby Macedonia. One known in the area is in Macedonia (just west of Twinsburg) or in Oakwood village. But honestly, many Twinsburg people go to Solon or Aurora because of established shops there. If convenience is key, and damage is minor, Twinsburg residents might use a smaller local body shop for quick fixes, but for major repairs, they’ll choose a proven place like Solon Collision or a dealership’s collision center.

  • Solon: With Solon Collision moved, Solon residents have likely shifted to Aurora for that service. There may be a repair shop associated with a Solon car dealership or two. Also, Solon folks could go a bit west to Warrensville/Bedford where a lot of auto businesses are. But continuing with the tried-and-true (Solon Collision at Aurora) is likely a popular choice because they know the staff and trust them.

  • Hudson: This community might lean either towards Stow/Akron shops or north towards Twinsburg/Aurora. There is a well-known shop in Cuyahoga Falls that some might use. However, with Aurora’s facility (Solon Collision) being relatively close, many Hudson-ites who know of it might opt to go there for quality. Also, Hudson does not have big box auto dealers in town, so independent or traveling a bit is normal.

Putting It Together – The Best Approach

For any of these three cities, I recommend focusing on:

  • Quality and reputation over immediate proximity. Aurora’s Solon Collision stands out regionally. Other names might include Classic Accident Repair Center (Classic dealerships have a body shop perhaps in Streetsboro) or Gerber/Caliber franchises if any near by – just do research on reviews.

  • Get an Estimate from a top-rated shop (even if a town over) and a local one; compare not just price but how they treat you and explain the repair. The best shop will stand out in professionalism.

  • Remember you can go anywhere. As per Ohio law and general rights, you can pick any shop you want, even if your insurance nudges you to one in a specific town. So if you live in Twinsburg and your insurance recommends a chain in Northfield, but you prefer Solon Collision in Aurora, you absolutely can choose Solon Collision. The insurer will still cover it (they must).

  • Consider logistics: If you work in one of these towns or in Cleveland/Akron, maybe choose a shop near work. For example, if you live in Hudson but work in Solon, dropping at Solon Collision (Aurora) on your way to work could be convenient. Or vice versa.

To sum up:

  • Twinsburg drivers: Look into Aurora’s Solon Collision, or Macedonia area shops, as well as any recommendations your neighbors have. Quality matters.

  • Solon drivers: Likely follow Solon Collision to Aurora, or check for any new Solon body shops or Bedford options. Solon Collision was highlighted by the city (Solon Business Spotlight) which speaks to their prominence.

  • Hudson drivers: You have radius options: Akron area or Aurora area. Many choose north towards Aurora because of the highly-rated independent shop there, but if you have a closer trusted place south, that’s fine too. Key is trust.

In all cases, Solon Collision (Aurora) emerges as a strong contender for best collision repair servicing Twinsburg, Solon, and Hudson. With I-CAR Gold Class credentials and a commitment to quality, it’s a regional draw. But there are certainly other good shops, so do your due diligence.

No matter where you go, insist on quality repairs, OEM parts or equivalent, and a shop that communicates and stands behind their work. All three of these communities value high standards – find a shop that reflects that, and you’ll be in good hands.
